And, finding there was greater happiness and peace and rest for me, I sought for the blessings of the fathers, and the right whereunto I should be ordained to administer the same (Abraham, vs 2)

Temple: Powers of Heaven: 144,000: Zion

Please read this post: What is the Priesthood: Powers of Heaven. We will go from there.
15 Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven, that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen. (Mosiah 5:15)
"may seal you his"
Hugh Nibley defines a Seal as the following in his text "Ancient Ordinances" a discussion on the ancient temple.
The sign of recognition with the Lord is to stretch out the hand and receive the sign of the cross in the hand.
(The final rite of the crowning of the Egyptian kings was an embrace which a priest have the king as a representative of the king’s father through a canvas in a special manner, whispering certain blessings in his ear.)
Three types of greeting coming from Adam’s time:
1) a call
2) a sign in the hand,
3) an embrace. These three signs are seals.
Joseph Said,
This is the spirit of Elijah, that we redeem our dead, and connect ourselves with our fathers which are in heaven, and seal up our dead to come forth in the first resurrection; and here we want the power of Elijah to seal those who dwell on earth to those who dwell in heaven.
History of the Church, 6:252. (also here)
Friendship: What kind of relationship do you need to do this?
Moses 7:63 And the Lord said unto Enoch: Then shalt thou and all thy a city meet them there, and we will receive them into our bosom, and they shall see us; and we will fall upon their necks, and they shall fall upon our necks, and we will kiss each other;
A connection to the Powers of Heaven? Someone you know, talked with, familiar with? It seems like one form of embrace.
"that you may be brought to heaven",
I wish to pull one sentence from the LDS endowment. This sentence is almost identical to the published version written by Brigham Young and many published documents in the early church.
Brethren and sisters, if you are true and faithful, the day will come when you will be chosen, called up, and anointed kings and queens, priests and priestesses, whereas you are now anointed only to become such
You see the endowment is conditional, its not the real blessings. Its an ordinance we are asked to receive in this life, that also points us to something higher, just like baptism, and the gift of the holy ghost point us to something greater. Its in a way a witness and testimony of what we have or will do.

Look at the word "called up" or as the Mosiah verse uses the terms "that you may be brought to heaven". Is this what the temple is pointing to? Is this how we receive the real thing? To converse with the Lord through the veil? While in the flesh? Lets look at some more examples.

Not lawful to utter
The scriptures have used this phrase a lot. Lets examine some of them to see how they relate to being "called up' or being "brought to heaven" or our "endowment".
13 And behold, the heavens were opened, and they were caught up into heaven, and saw and heard unspeakable things.
And it was forbidden them that they should utter; neither was it given unto them power that they could utter the things which they saw and heard; (3 Nephi 28:13-14)
Behold, it came to pass on the morrow that the multitude gathered themselves together, and they both saw and heard these children; yea, even babes did open their mouths and utter marvelous things; and the things which they did utter were forbidden that there should not any man write them. (3 Nephi 26:16)
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. (2 Corinthians 12:4)
Look at Josephs Experience in Section 76 when he was caught up to Heaven. He testifies he has seen Him! This is not what is not lawful to utter. He testifies He saw God the Father. This is not what is not lawful to utter.
114 But great and marvelous are the works of the Lord, and the mysteries of his kingdom which he showed unto us, which surpass all understanding in glory, and in might, and in dominion;
115 Which he commanded us we should not write while we were yet in the Spirit, and are not lawful for man to utter;
These are the mysteries that are not lawful to utter. Go read what he did reveal. Those are mysteries we should testify of.

The revelation ends with these words.
116 Neither is man capable to make them known, for they are only to be seen and understood by the power of the Holy Spirit, which God bestows on those who love him, and purify themselves before him;
117 To whom he grants this privilege of seeing and knowing for themselves;
118 That through the power and manifestation of the Spirit, while in the flesh, they may be able to bear his presence in the world of glory.
1 THE words of God, which he spake unto Moses at a time when Moses was caught up into an exceedingly high mountain, (Moses 1: 1)
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, (Revelations 21:10)
Lehi:
8 And being thus overcome with the Spirit, he was carried away in a vision, even that he saw the heavens open, and he thought he saw God sitting upon his throne, surrounded with numberless concourses of angels in the attitude of singing and praising their God.
9 And it came to pass that he saw One descending out of the midst of heaven, and he beheld that his luster was above that of the sun at noon-day.
10 And he also saw twelve others following him, and their brightness did exceed that of the stars in the firmament.
11 And they came down and went forth upon the face of the earth; and the first came and stood before my father, and gave unto him a book, and bade him that he should read. (1 Nephi 1:8-11)
The scriptures are full of accounts of people receiving the fulness. They are accounts for us to teach us how to pierce the veil. The what, the why, and the how.

Kings and Priests
Lets look at the visions of John.
5 Therefore, I, John, the faithful witness, bear record of the things which were delivered me of the angel, and from Jesus Christ the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth.
6 And unto him who loved us, be glory; who washed us from our sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God, his Father. To him be glory and dominion, forever and ever. Amen. (JST Revelations 1:5-6)
Being washed from the blood and sins of this generation is directly related to those who receive the holy order, or the power in their priesthood, or a fulness of the priesthood. In the post on the Holy Order I quoted this verse in Alma 13 vs 11, "Therefore they were called after this holy order, and were sanctified, and their garments were washed white through the blood of the Lamb.". Remember this verse in D&C 88:68.
68 Therefore, sanctify yourselves that your minds become single to God, and the days will come that you shall see him; for he will unveil his face unto you, and it shall be in his own time, and in his own way, and according to his own will. (D&C 88:68)
"ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal life"
We have NOT repented and come to Christ. Had we done that, we would have been embraced in those opened arms of our Lord. In five points of contact with a loving God, we would have heard unspeakable things and know we escaped the wo's pronounced by Nephi. You need to figure out what it is that is NOT working in your repentance.
"through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth of him who created all things, in heaven and in earth, who is God above all. Amen"
The 144,000 High priests
Lets talk about the 144,00 High priests. Joseph received the following revelation.
11Q. What are we to understand by sealing the one hundred and forty-four thousand, out of all the tribes of Israel—twelve thousand out of every tribe?
A. We are to understand that those who are sealed are high priests, ordained unto the holy order of God, to administer the everlasting gospel; for they are they who are ordained out of every nation, kindred, tongue, and people, by the angels to whom is given power over the nations of the earth, to bring as many as will come to the church of the Firstborn. (D&C 77:11)
They are ordained by the angels, sealed up as High Priests to gather as many as will come to the church of the Firstborn. These servants gather others that will come. Two phrases I want to bring up.

"ordained unto the holy order of God"
Where are they ordained from? Is this a church ordination or perhaps its the ordination that I have just talked about to be "ordained by God Himself" as all prophets were (TPJS) and "caught up to heaven".

How about the ordaination by God's voice? JST Gen. 14: 28-30.

"by the angels to whom is given power"Who are these angels? Where do they come from? Will others know about these 144,00 if its angels that ordain them?
These 144,00 are given the terms "power" and "angels". Interesting enough its the same type of association as the "Powers of Heaven". Is it this association that keeps us from being burned when the "hosts" come down out of heaven? (Moses 7).
The Four Angels In Heaven Seal the Servants
Revelations 7:1-3 tells us that the four angels are the ones that seal the servants before the final harvest so they will not be burned.
Priesthood Ordination by God's Voice (Holy Order)
42 And wo unto all those who come not unto this priesthood which ye have received, which I now confirm upon you who are present this day, by mine own voice out of the heavens; and even I have given the heavenly hosts and mine angels charge concerning you. (D&C 84:42)
Put on Thy Strength, O Zion
7 Questions by Elias Higbee: What is meant by the command in Isaiah, 52d chapter, 1st verse, which saith: Put on thy strength, O Zion—and what people had Isaiah reference to?
8 He had reference to those whom God should call in the last days, who should hold the power of priesthood to bring again Zion, and the redemption of Israel; and to put on her strength is to put on the authority of the priesthood, which she, Zion, has a right to by lineage; also to return to that power which she had lost. (D&C 113:7-8)
Awake, Arise
Lets read the version of Isaiah 52:1 in 2 Nephi.
24 Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city; for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.
25 Shake thyself from the dust; arise, sit down, O Jerusalem; loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.
 (2 Nephi 8:24)
The reason why Israel cannot build Zion is because they are all asleep, held captive, they won't wake up, and put on "thy strength" or this priesthood. They remain unclean. First step is to Awake. The Next Step is to Arise. The reason why WE cannot build Zion is because WE ARE ASLEEP. "Awake to your awful situation" the scriptures inform us. Awake to your awful state of wickedness. They will not become Sanctified! So that they can be washed from the blood and sins of this generation.

Even though there are some awake, they to must to Arise. While many are asleep, there are a few awake, and even a fewer who do what it takes to Arise. Perhaps a another post I will focus on this more.

Sit Down
And ascended into heaven, to sit down on the right hand of the Father, to reign with almighty power according to the will of the Father; (D&C 20:24)

And land their souls, yea, their immortal souls, at the right hand of God in the kingdom of heaven, to sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and with Jacob, and with all our holy fathers, to go no more out (Helaman 3:30)
How to Worship
19 I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and know what you worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of his fulness. (D&C 93:1)
Search the scriptures to know how, to know what, that you may come unto the Father. The lectures on faith says without a correct idea of his character, pefections, and attributes we cannot lay hold upon eternal life. Their purpose is to teach us the What, the Book of Mormon also does but also shows us HOW.

Second Coming: The Gathering of the Saints

Wheat and the Tares
1 Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you my servants, concerning the parable of the wheat and of the tares:
2 Behold, verily I say, the field was the world, and the apostles were the sowers of the seed;
3 And after they have fallen asleep the great persecutor of the church, the apostate, the whore, even Babylon, that maketh all nations to drink of her cup, in whose hearts the enemy, even Satan, sitteth to reign—behold he soweth the tares; wherefore, the tares choke the wheat and drive the church into the wilderness.
4 But behold, in the last days, even now while the Lord is beginning to bring forth the word, and the blade is springing up and is yet tender—
5 Behold, verily I say unto you, the angels are crying unto the Lord day and night, who are ready and waiting to be sent forth to reap down the fields;
6 But the Lord saith unto them, pluck not up the tares while the blade is yet tender (for verily your faith is weak), lest you destroy the wheat also.
7 Therefore, let the wheat and the tares grow together until the harvest is fully ripe; then ye shall first gather out the wheat from among the tares, and after the gathering of the wheat, behold and lo, the tares are bound in bundles, and the field remaineth to be burned. (D&C 86:1-7)
Who are the apostles?
Why did they fall asleep before the harvest?
Why do the tares choke the wheat?
Why do the tares drive the church into the wilderness?
What does that mean?
Who are the church?
What is the wilderness?

10 Virgins
How does this relate with the story of the 10 virgins? For they will be "left with the light within themselves". So what kind of light have your gained? Is that why the foolish don't come to the feast because they didn't have "light"? Why was it that the 10 virgins who were invited to the wedding feast didn't make it and the Lord had to find others?
56 And at that day, when I shall come in my glory, shall the parable be fulfilled which I spake concerning the ten virgins.
57 For they that are wise and have received the truth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their guide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire, but shall abide the day. (D&C 45:56-57)
Why is it that this is past tense? HAVE taken the holy spirit as their guide. Does this mean they have already partaken of the tree of life? That they are able to endure his presence?

The Wedding Feast
And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said,
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.
Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and myfatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.
But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise:
And the remnant took his servants, and entreated themspitefully, and slew them. But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.
Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
10 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
11 ¶And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:
12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 For many are called, but few are chosen. (Matthew 22:1-14)
Who are those that are invited to this wedding feast in these Latter days? Why were those that were invited not worthy? Why did the king have to go out and find "others" that were willing to come to the feast?

The Gathering of the Saints

How are the saints to be gathered in the last days?
The Savior says, the kingdom of heaven is like a fish net that is cast into the sea, which took of every kind, both good and bad, and by and by they brought the net to the shore, and gathered the good into vessels, and cast the bad away. So shall it be in the last days... (Orson Hyde, JOD 2:61, here)
The church is the net, the good are the wheat. But who gathers the good from the bad? Instead of quoting the NT I will quote what he says about it instead.
...If men reject the administration of angels, and will not believe in their existence, nor regard their words, I do not know how they will ever obtain access to the king. If they will not acknowledge his ministers, I do not know how they are going to speak to the king himself.
Have angels anything to do with what will take place in the last days? He makes His angels ministering spirits, and they are sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation. (ibid, pg 64)
Angels will have a part in the work of the last days. What are they to do? Says the Savior—“The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.” He let them grow together until the time of harvest; then He “will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles and burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” The field is the world. Who are the reapers? The angels are the reapers; and still, angels, you say, are coming to earth no more. This won't do, for the reapers are the angels, the good seed are the children of the kingdom, and the tares are the children of the wicked one, and the enemy that sowed them is the devil. In another place it is said, “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” And yet the present Christian world say that angels have no more to do; of course, then, they do not look for anything of this kind; their faith does not embrace the sayings of the Savior and His Apostles, touching the winding up scene: and without faith, it is impossible to please God; consequently they cannot share in the blessings of the gathering dispensation of the last days, their unbelief excludes them.  (ibid, pg 64-65)
Angels minister to those who are heirs of salvation that is their purpose. Joseph said the same thing about Enoch. This puts a predicament to those who don't believe angels appear to men anymore, or to those that believe only leaders, apostles, prophets, receive angels, or to those who believe in angels but are not worthy of them for they are only "showing themselves unto them of strong faith and a firm mind in every form of godliness" (Moroni 7:30)

Lectures on Faith states the following.
9 It was in offering sacrifices that Abel, the first martyr, obtained knowledge that he was accepted of God. And from the days of righteous Abel to the present time, the knowledge that men have that they are accepted in the sight of God, is obtained by offering sacrifice: and in the last days, before the Lord comes, he is to gather together his saints who have made a covenant with him by sacrifice. Ps. 50: 3,4,5. Our God shall clime, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant unto me by sacrifice.  (Lecture 6)
How does one make a covenant by Sacrifice? Does this mean this type of covenant is only given AFTER sacrifice?

Faith

Believe All Things!

Lets look again at what Joseph said about Faith as previously quoted in the Doctrine of Christ post. All I should do is point you to the Lectures on Faith and this post is done but there are a few things I will highlight.

You can read them online for free at either of these links.
https://rsc.byu.edu/out-print/lectures-faith-historical-perspective
http://www.mormonbeliefs.com/lectures_on_faith.htm
Faith: comes by hearing the word of God 3 through the testimony of the Servants of God, that Testimony is always attended by the Spirit of prophecy & Revelation (here)
Lecture two states the same thing in the Questions and Answer section.
Q. What testimony have men, in the first instance, that there is a God?
A. Human testimony, and human testimony only. (2:56. )
Q. What excited the ancient saints to seek diligently after a knowledge of the glory of God, his perfections and attributes?
A. The credence they gave to the testimony of their fathers. (2:56.)
Q. How do men obtain a knowledge of the glory of God, his perfections and attributes?
A. By devoting themselves to his service, through prayer and supplication incessantly, strengthening their faith in him, until like Enoch, the brother of Jared, and Moses, they obtain a manifestation of God to themselves. (2:55.)
Q. Is the knowledge of the existence of God a matter of mere tradition, founded upon human testimony alone, until a person receives a manifestation of God to themselves?
A. It is.
Q. How do you prove it
A. From the whole of the first lecture of the second section.
So our testimony is based off the testimony of our fathers. What kind of testimony is required to bring us into the presence of God? Joseph has been known to say you cannot elevate another when you are not on higher ground. So we need a testimony from one who has been in the presence of God and been redeemed from the Fall if we ever want to be elevated to abide by that Glory. Christ being the great prototype. The fathers or servants, being witnesses to this prototype. Joseph Smith was one as we can read his testimony in D&C 76. "We have seen him" and "he received of his fulness". Its important to know and gain a testimony for ourselves whether someone has not only seen but received of His fulness or not.

Verse 55 in the Lectures on Faith states,

Let us here observe, that after any portion of the human family are made acquainted with the important fact that there is a God who has created and does uphold all things, the extent of their knowledge, respecting his character and glory, will depend upon their diligence and faithfulness in seeking after him, until like Enoch the brother of Jared, and Moses, they shall obtain faith in God, and power with him to. behold him face to face.

Again another part of the LOF that explains what is seen when faith is present among the children of men.
All these appear when faith appears on the earth, and disappear when it disappears from the earth. For these are the effects of faith and always have, and always will attend it.
For where faith is, there will the knowledge of God be also, with all things which pertain thereto revelations, visions, and dreams, as well as every other necessary thing in order that the possessors of faith may be perfected and obtain salvation... And he who possesses it will, through it, obtain all necessary knowledge and wisdom until he shall know God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he has sent: whom to know is eternal life: Amen. (pg 73-74)
Revelations, visions, dreams, as well as every other necessary thing in order that the possessors of faith may be perfected and obtain salvation. Because these are ALL necessary to elevate us, and bring us to Faith in God. We should seek diligently these gifts. While some are given more abundantly to different people due to ones faith in obtaining them they can be gained by all when in accordance with the Lord's will. For only we can deliver our own souls (Ezekial 14:14,20).

These are the things that Joseph Smith said in the first quote on this page that testimony accompanies the spirit of prophecy and revelation. The spirit of prophecy, revelations, etc.. The Holy Ghost will testify of all things as well.

Finally lets quote from Lecture 6.
7 Let us here observe, that a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things, never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation; for from the first existence of man, the faith necessary unto the enjoyment of life and salvation never could be obtained without the sacrifice of all earthly things: it was through this sacrifice, and this only, that God has ordained that men should enjoy eternal life; and it is through the medium of the sacrifice of all earthly things, that men do actually know that they are doing the things that are well pleasing in the sight of God. When a man has offered in sacrifice all that he has, for the truth's sake, not even withholding his life, and believing before God that he has been called to make this sacrifice, because he seeks to do his will, he does know most assuredly, that God does and will accept his sacrifice & offering, & that he has not nor will not seek his face
Faith comes by sacrifice. We obtain faith when we sacrifice. There is no other way. If we are not willing to follow the Holy Ghost in all things, the Lord will not trust us with his will and we will not be able to abide in his law, which we will be required to if we ever want to lay hold upon eternal life. One of the first sacrifices one is asked to make is a broken heart and a contrite spirit which helps us remain humble.

If you want to increase your faith in Him, than ask him to prepare you to sacrifice. He will prepare you before he asks you to sacrifice. When you are prepared he will ask you just like Abraham to make an offering in Sacrifice, and by knowing (not guessing, not believing, but must know this sacrifice is from God, for Satan waits to deceive) it was called by God, God  "will accept [your] sacrifice & offering". There will be many sacrifices asked of you to help you develop the Faith required "unto life and salvation". Learn to recognize the spirit now. Learn to gain manifestations of the spirit. It takes sacrifice, time, solemn thought to find the ways of heaven out. Be still and know he is and you can learn and hear his voice.

Signs Follow those with Faith

Signs will follow those who have faith, they do not come to increase your faith. Moroni Explains more on Faith and the manifestations that accompany one with faith.
Wherefore, by the ministering of angels, and by every word which proceeded forth out of the mouth of God, men began to exercise faith in Christ; and thus by faith, they did lay hold upon every good thing; and thus it was until the coming of Christ.
And after that he came men also were saved by faith in his name; and by faith, they become the sons of God. And as surely as Christ liveth he spake these words unto our fathers, saying: Whatsoever thing ye shall ask the Father in my name, which is good, in faith believing that ye shall receive, behold, it shall be done unto you. (Moroni 7:25-26)
First we learn the purpose of his word from the mouth of God and by the ministering of Angels is to increase faith. That is one responsibility of ministering of angels is to increase Faith in the land. As we learned in the Doctrine of Christ thread they "speak by the power of the holy ghost" (2 Nephi 32:1-5).
Or have angels ceased to appear unto the children of men? Or has he withheld the power of the Holy Ghost from them? Or will he, so long as time shall last, or the earth shall stand, or there shall be one man upon the face thereof to be saved?
Behold I say unto you, Nay; for it is by faith that miracles are wrought; and it is by faith that angels appear and minister unto men; wherefore, if these things have ceased wo be unto the children of men, for it is because of unbelief, and all is vain. For no man can be saved, according to the words of Christ, save they shall have faith in his name; wherefore, if these things have ceased, then has faith ceased also; and awful is the state of man, for they are as though there had been no redemption made. (vs 36-38)
So the ministry of angels and miracles accompany those with faith, and if there is no faith to produce these great works that are bestowed from our savior to us than it is as if no redemption has been made. They only "minister to those with strong faith and a firm mind in the every form of Godliness" (vs 30)

Examples of Sacrifice

The most used example is abraham and his sacrifice of Isaac. It was through his son that the promise of Abraham would be fulfilled, for a numerous posterity (seed). It was that same promise that he was asked to sacrifice. This was done to see if he would regard all things as "filth and dross" (LOF) before God. He willingly went and did what was commanded of him and gained the knowledge needed for him to secure salvation. It was through this sacrifice he showed the Lord he was willing to "sacrifice all things".

Another example is Emma Smith. I don't know the entire story behind it all but there is a verse that explains what was asked of Emma and Joseph.
Verily, I say unto you: A commandment I give unto mine handmaid, Emma Smith, your wife, whom I have given unto you, that she stay herself and partake not of that which I commanded you to offer unto her; for I did it, saith the Lord, to prove you all, as I did Abraham, and that I might require an offering at your hand, by covenant and sacrifice. (D&C 132:51)
Joseph was commanded to give something to Emma. Emma was commanded to not receive it. This was done to require an offering by covenant and sacrifice. It was this that allowed her as the LOF point out that she could gain the knowledge (faith) unto life and salvation.

The story shows the importance to always listen to the voice of the Lord FIRST. Even before the prophet, church leader, wife, or child. If she would have listened she would have failed. Likewise we should only receive the council of anyone, including the Lords servants, when the Lord confirms to our minds that it is right. After all it could be a test to see if you will do all things the Lord requires of you. He even could test you by having someone you respect, a spouse, a father, mother, a leader, or even a prophet offer or require something at your hands, after the Lord has told you to do something else.

There are other examples of people who have fallen due to listening to another over the spirit of God who have lost their salvation. 1 Kings 13 is my favorite.
