History Repeats

Perhaps one of the reasons why Isaiah is able to tell the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10) is that history repeats. Perhaps just like many many patters in the book of Mormon known as chiasmus, also plays into the history of the World?

One of the many witnesses of the truthfulness of the book of mormon is the chiasmus structures.

We are also told the following in Moses 6:7.
Now this same Priesthood, which was in the beginning, shall be in the end of the world also.
This is the ancient order or the ancient religion that Adam lived. It was in the beginning and will be in the end when the Lord returns.

First shall be last, last shall be first.

We are also told as in the days of noah shall it be in the end. Joseph was known to say noah came before the flood, I (Joseph) came before the fire. Also see Matthew 24.

The ancient order of Enoch still needs to be restored or the ancient religion. If these types are true, than it brings up many more interesting questions. Perhaps this is why the Lord himself has commanded us to search Isaiah because his history is our history. Perhaps this is why Nephi included over a dozen chapters from Isaiah, telling us its expedient for us to know the words of Isaiah.
this is a new and an everlasting covenant, even that which was from the beginning. (D&C 22: 1.)
The Book of Mormon history was placed at an end of an era, now it seems their history will be ours as the first of a new era.

  1. Yes, all things cycle. Gods course is an eternal round. What happened to the Jews will happen to the Gentiles. We will get the same tests that the Jews had. That's the reason Nephi, Jesus and other prophets in the BofM kept pointing us back to Isaiah. The book of Isaiah tells us exactly what is going to happen to us in our day.

    2 Nephi 6

4 And now, behold, I would speak unto you concerning THINGS WHICH ARE, and WHICH ARE TO COME; wherefore, I will read you the words of Isaiah. And they are the words which my brother has desired that I should speak unto you. And I speak unto you for your sakes, that ye may learn and glorify the name of your God.

    Ecclesiastes
9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.

    3 Nephi 23

1 And now, behold, I say unto you, that ye ought to search these things. Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah.

2 For surely he spake as touching all things concerning my people which are of the house of Israel; therefore IT MUST NEEDS BE THAT HE MUST SPEAK ALSO TO THE GENTILES.

3 And ALL THINGS THAT HE SPAKE HAVE BEEN AND SHALL BE, even according to the words which he spake.
